Custom Execution Guide

Start the step-by-step guide

Choose a supported task, collect the right handoff, check its actual result and leave a clear next step.

English review edition · Match every task to its delivered version, prerequisites and evidence scope.

New to Guide Packs?See the structure, safe-use boundaries and Packtory listing purpose → These are documentation packages; reading them does not grant product operation authority.

First use · generate and compare two Custom API candidates

Use the installed SDK to analyze the complete synthetic input, generate custom-01, change only component and score in custom-02, and inspect the four candidate files. This is a local synthetic exercise, not a call to a real customer API, integration registration or execution approval.

Before you start

  • Complete Part.1 installation and Part.5 toolchain setup first. Obtain the two complete JSON downloads below, a UTF-8 text editor and a fresh private practice folder. Do not use the deliberately numeric-score negative fixture as the successful base input.
  • Select Online run or the prepared Offline run-offline route. For Offline, the target-matching dependency verification and native tools must already be complete. Use the actual installed paths from Part.1, not a browser download folder or a path guessed from an example.

Choose Online or Offline for your actual environment. Online uses approved network access. Offline is an optional closed on-premises setup requiring the matching product, compiler/native toolchain and declared dependencies before transfer. A documentation download does not contain those packages.

Download the blank worksheet and save a private working copy in a new folder such as guide-practice-01. Open JSON in a UTF-8 text editor, preserve quotation marks and null for unobserved fields, and save as .json rather than .json.txt. These worksheets are notes, not product requests. Never submit them to the SDK or Helper.

Follow the steps in order

1 · Create a fresh practice folder and save complete inputs

Do this: Create a new private folder guide-custom-01 with inputs and runs subfolders. Download custom-api-01.json and custom-api-02.json into inputs, keeping those exact filenames. If the folder already exists, choose another fresh name and update the path variables; preserve the old folder.

Check this result: Both complete input files exist. Each contains request_id, correlation_id and draft with definition/source/mapping/fixture; an isolated response snippet is not a full SDK input.

If it does not match: If the browser adds .txt or a duplicate suffix, correct the saved filename without overwriting prior work. A worksheet with record_kind is a note and must not be submitted.

2 · Read the schemas and analyze the first input

Do this: Open custom-api-01.json. The declared source output score is string and fixture response is "97"; mapping STRING_TO_INTEGER targets quality_score. Use the analyze command below with the installed SDK. Keep its exit code and actual returned status/reasons.

Check this result: The complete input is accepted by its documented analysis checks. Schema declaration and fixture sample are distinguished from a real provider response.

If it does not match: A numeric 97, missing draft or unsupported field is a different input. Preserve the error, correct only the documented mismatch in a copy and analyze that copy before candidate generation.

3 · Generate custom-01 once using the chosen mode

Do this: For Online, use run with inputs/custom-api-01.json and the unused runs/custom-01 directory. For Offline, use the matching run-offline command with the verified dependencies and any documented macOS CLT selection. Use one route for this candidate, then inspect the complete returned result.

Check this result: The new directory has README.md, adapter.rs, libadapter.rlib and manifest.json with the documented stage/file checks. A nonzero exit or failed postcheck is not a completed candidate.

If it does not match: Stop on failure and preserve custom-01 and the original result. Do not immediately switch command modes or reuse that output directory to hide the failed attempt.

4 · Change only the two response values for custom-02

Do this: Compare the supplied second input with the first: draft.fixture.response.component becomes "my-test-component" and score becomes "88". Both remain strings. You can make this edit in a fresh copy yourself or use the supplied complete second file. Keep the schemas, mapping and target identifiers unchanged for this exercise.

Check this result: The complete second JSON differs only in those two values. Reusing the example request/correlation identifiers is limited to this documented local SDK exercise, not live Helper or Work submission.

If it does not match: If you change score to the JSON number 88 or replace the full file with the displayed response fragment, stop and restore the complete string-typed input.

5 · Analyze and generate into a second unused output

Do this: Analyze custom-api-02.json, then use the same selected command mode and native options with runs/custom-02. Do not overwrite custom-01. Open both manifests and source files after all required checks complete.

Check this result: There are two separate candidate folders, each bound to its own input and stage results. The mapping can remain identical even when fixture values change.

If it does not match: If analysis or generation fails, keep the second result separate and use the exact error cases below. Do not copy successful files from custom-01 to manufacture a complete custom-02.

6 · Compare outputs and record the candidate boundary

Do this: Read README.md, adapter.rs and manifest.json in each folder. Compare input digest, stage results and files individually. The documented manifest status is CUSTOMER_REVIEW_CANDIDATE with authority_granted false. A changed fixture can alter manifest observations while adapter.rs stays identical.

Check this result: The observation note names both input/output paths, each source/library digest, actual manifest result and next integration reviewer. No runtime registration or real API connectivity is claimed.

If it does not match: Different libraries require exact toolchain/input comparison, not manual manifest editing. To change generated code reproducibly, change supported input declarations/mapping and create a fresh candidate.

Editable records, inputs and output examples

Input change · response fragment, not a complete SDK request

This fragment locates the two editable values. Use the complete downloadable input when running the SDK. The base response is component "fixture-component" with score "97".

JSON

    "fixture": {
      "response": {
        "component": "my-test-component",

      }
    }
  }
}

macOS / Linux · create fresh private folders

Use only your OS block. After successful creation, use the download links to save both complete JSON files into the inputs folder shown here. Then continue in the same terminal. The commands are examples for the reader; no directory is created by this web page.

Shell
# macOS / Linux: run this folder-creation block first
PRACTICE="$HOME/guide-custom-01"
(
  umask 077
  mkdir "$PRACTICE" && mkdir "$PRACTICE/inputs" "$PRACTICE/runs"
)
# Stop if mkdir reports that the folder exists.

Windows PowerShell · create fresh folders

Use only your OS block. After successful creation, use the download links to save both complete JSON files into the inputs folder shown here. Then continue in the same terminal. The commands are examples for the reader; no directory is created by this web page.

PowerShell
$Practice = Join-Path $env:USERPROFILE 'guide-custom-01'
if (Test-Path -LiteralPath $Practice) { throw 'Choose a fresh practice folder' }
New-Item -ItemType Directory -Path $Practice -ErrorAction Stop | Out-Null
New-Item -ItemType Directory -Path (Join-Path $Practice 'inputs'),(Join-Path $Practice 'runs') -ErrorAction Stop | Out-Null

macOS / Linux · path setup, analyze and Online generation

Execute one line at a time in the same terminal, inspect the exit code immediately with echo $? and read the returned checks before continuing. Set the real installed path. For Offline use the alternative below instead of these run lines.

Shell
SDK_EXE="$HOME/VibePackr-SDK-install-01/sdk/bin/packr-sdk-engine"
PRACTICE="$HOME/guide-custom-01"
# First create this fresh private folder and save the two complete inputs.
# Run each line only after the previous command and result checks succeed.
"$SDK_EXE" analyze "$PRACTICE/inputs/custom-api-01.json" unused
"$SDK_EXE" run "$PRACTICE/inputs/custom-api-01.json" "$PRACTICE/runs/custom-01"
"$SDK_EXE" analyze "$PRACTICE/inputs/custom-api-02.json" unused
"$SDK_EXE" run "$PRACTICE/inputs/custom-api-02.json" "$PRACTICE/runs/custom-02"

Windows PowerShell · analyze and Online generation

Create the fresh directories and save inputs first. Keep all output checks in addition to the process return code. Do not paste a macOS shell variable assignment into PowerShell.

PowerShell
$SdkExe = Join-Path $env:USERPROFILE 'VibePackr-SDK-install-01\sdk\bin\packr-sdk-engine.exe'
$Practice = Join-Path $env:USERPROFILE 'guide-custom-01'
& $SdkExe analyze (Join-Path $Practice 'inputs\custom-api-01.json') unused
if ($LASTEXITCODE -ne 0) { throw 'Stop and preserve analysis error' }
& $SdkExe run (Join-Path $Practice 'inputs\custom-api-01.json') (Join-Path $Practice 'runs\custom-01')
if ($LASTEXITCODE -ne 0) { throw 'Stop and preserve candidate error' }
# Continue only after inspecting all required first-candidate checks.
& $SdkExe analyze (Join-Path $Practice 'inputs\custom-api-02.json') unused
if ($LASTEXITCODE -ne 0) { throw 'Stop and preserve second analysis error' }
& $SdkExe run (Join-Path $Practice 'inputs\custom-api-02.json') (Join-Path $Practice 'runs\custom-02')
if ($LASTEXITCODE -ne 0) { throw 'Stop and preserve second candidate error' }

macOS / Linux · Offline alternative

Use instead of the Online run lines, after exact target/dependency verification. When macOS CLT selection applies, append --macos-developer-selection COMMAND_LINE_TOOLS to the run-offline command before executing it. Keep the same selected option for candidate 02; do not run two alternatives into the same output folder.

Shell
# macOS / Linux: use instead of run, after dependency verification
SDK_DEPS="$HOME/VibePackr-SDK-install-01/dependencies"
"$SDK_EXE" run-offline "$PRACTICE/inputs/custom-api-01.json" "$PRACTICE/runs/custom-01" "$SDK_DEPS"
# Repeat only after success, using input 02 and output custom-02.
# macOS CLT selection, if applicable, adds:
# --macos-developer-selection COMMAND_LINE_TOOLS

Windows PowerShell · Offline alternative

Run analysis first for each input. Use the real verified dependency path. These lines replace the Online run lines; they do not follow them into the same candidate directories.

PowerShell
$SdkDeps = Join-Path $env:USERPROFILE 'VibePackr-SDK-install-01\dependencies'
& $SdkExe run-offline (Join-Path $Practice 'inputs\custom-api-01.json') (Join-Path $Practice 'runs\custom-01') $SdkDeps
if ($LASTEXITCODE -ne 0) { throw 'Stop and preserve first offline candidate error' }
# Continue only after all first-candidate checks pass.
& $SdkExe run-offline (Join-Path $Practice 'inputs\custom-api-02.json') (Join-Path $Practice 'runs\custom-02') $SdkDeps
if ($LASTEXITCODE -ne 0) { throw 'Stop and preserve second offline candidate error' }

Expected output layout · inspect your own actual result

The tree is a documented expected layout, not a captured run. Open the text files in your editor; the .rlib is a binary library, not an application to double-click. Use the OS file-digest commands in Part.5.

Troubleshooting with evidence and next actions

Retained cases cite already-public observations for their stated release and environment. Procedure examples describe how to respond; they are not additional observed incidents. No product runs were performed to write this guide.

DISCOVER passed but NORMALIZE was denied

Retained observed case

Symptom: The retained local status example returned DISCOVER/PASSED/DISCOVERED, then NORMALIZE/DENIED/CONTRACT_INCOMPATIBLE with lifecycle_stage null.

What the evidence means: The intentionally unbound target was not made compatible by discovery. Process exit 0 can accompany a semantic denial, so status/reason must be read.

Verbatim public result object

JSON
{
  "operation": "NORMALIZE",
  "request_id": "example-status-discover-001",
  "status": "DENIED",
  "reason": "CONTRACT_INCOMPATIBLE",
  "lifecycle_stage": null
}

Actions

  1. Keep both original result excerpts and the source document.
  2. Obtain the exact supported target contract and adapter revision from the supplier; a new invented target name does not fix the boundary.

Completion or resume check: A complete matching request/package and a separately observed successful normalization are needed before the dependent registration step.

Read the source and its original scope

Required property is not declared

Retained observed case

Symptom: Adding uptime to output_schema.required without defining its property produced DENIED / SCHEMA_INCOMPATIBLE in the retained negative example.

What the evidence means: The required list and declared primitive properties must agree; a prose explanation does not define a machine-readable field.

Verbatim public result object

JSON
{
  "operation": "DISCOVER",
  "request_id": "example-status-discover-001",
  "status": "DENIED",
  "reason": "SCHEMA_INCOMPATIBLE",
  "lifecycle_stage": null
}

Actions

  1. Compare each required name with properties, including spelling and case.
  2. In a source copy, declare the genuinely required supported primitive property or remove an unintended required entry.

Completion or resume check: Recheck the corrected complete source through the supplied supported preparation procedure; do not invent a full R2 envelope from an excerpt.

Read the source and its original scope

Unsupported metadata field is rejected

Retained observed case

Symptom: Adding description to the protocol document produced DENIED / INVALID_REQUEST with request_id UNAVAILABLE in the retained parsing example.

What the evidence means: Human-readable notes and the supported machine schema are separate. A generally familiar JSON field is not automatically permitted here.

Verbatim public result object

JSON
{
  "operation": "DISCOVER",
  "request_id": "UNAVAILABLE",
  "status": "DENIED",
  "reason": "INVALID_REQUEST",
  "lifecycle_stage": null
}

Actions

  1. Preserve the parser result and compare against the complete documented source example.
  2. Move explanatory prose to the guide/brief and remove unsupported machine-input fields in a copy.

Completion or resume check: The supported source shape is checked without changing the contract or accepting unknown fields silently.

Read the source and its original scope

Unsupported MCP revision is denied

Retained observed case

Symptom: The retained negative example using MCP revision 2099-01-01 returned DENIED / PROTOCOL_REVISION_MISMATCH.

What the evidence means: The transcript revision must match the supported negotiated protocol. Relabeling a different transcript does not establish compatibility.

Verbatim public result object

JSON
{
  "operation": "DISCOVER",
  "request_id": "example-mcp-discover-001",
  "status": "DENIED",
  "reason": "PROTOCOL_REVISION_MISMATCH",
  "lifecycle_stage": null
}

Actions

  1. Keep the original transcript and exact revision error.
  2. Use a transcript actually captured for the supported revision under its supplied procedure; do not replace only the version string.

Completion or resume check: Compatibility is established by the supported complete input and actual preparation result, not by removing the denial field.

Read the source and its original scope

score is a number, or the full input was replaced with a fragment

Procedure example · not a newly observed incident

Symptom: Example: score is 88 instead of "88", or only the displayed response object is passed as the SDK input.

What the evidence means: The documented source score schema is string; STRING_TO_INTEGER is the explicit mapping. The SDK also needs the full request/draft structure, not only a response.

Actions

  1. Compare with the complete custom-api-02.json and restore the two quoted response strings.
  2. Keep all other fields intact for this exercise and analyze a new input copy before generating a fresh output.

Completion or resume check: The complete supported input passes its analysis and all candidate checks; no worksheet or manually edited manifest substitutes for it.

Read the source and its original scope

Finish and hand off

Keep both complete inputs, candidate folders, actual manifests, per-file digests, command mode and tool versions. Initial Helper B checks follow the completed declarations, before optional SDK/Builder authoring. After edits, repeat affected supported checks and finish the separate implementation review/registration and Pack approval path before operation. SDK authoring may be skipped for an existing implemented, registered, release-compatible integration; Builder authoring may be skipped for an existing approved Pack that meets the goal and installation scope.

  2. Part.2 · Observe structure with GAPE
  3. Part.3A · Plan with Integration Helper
  4. Part.4 · Write the source Document and bind the published target Contract

Helper B checks the completed declarations before you decide whether implementation or a new Pack is needed. After an implementation or declaration change, repeat only the affected supported checks and finish the separate implementation/registration/Pack approval path before operation. A generated candidate grants no operating authority.

Select only the route needed for your goal. Retained PoC reading can begin without installation. A supplied local SDK exercise uses Part.1 → Part.5 and does not require a new GAPE scan or appliance account. An existing approved Pack can use Part.1 → Part.7 → Part.8 after its current prerequisites are checked. New integration/Pack authoring follows the full conditional sequence.

Part map and tool responsibilities
PartRole and expected boundary
Part.1 · Installation and first connectionOS preparation, supplied packages and first connection. Installation is not an executed Work.
Part.2 · GAPE observation, comparison and sharingRevision-bound architecture observation. A worksheet is not the approved GAPE input manifest.
Part.3 · Integration Helper operationA plans before the Document; B checks the completed full request. Each stage reads its typed status/reason.
Part.4 · Contract and Document authoringAuthor the source Document and mappings; use the supplied target Contract/revision. JSON syntax alone does not establish semantic compatibility.
Part.5 · SDK Engine practice and candidatesGenerate a local SDK implementation candidate. Reuse an implemented, registered, release-compatible integration when it already meets the need.
Part.6 · Builder and Additional PacksPrepare a Pack candidate when a new Pack is needed. Reuse an existing approved Pack that meets the goal and installation scope.

Part.8 · Operations, troubleshooting and supportCompare same-Work artifacts, receipt and closure; keep human acceptance pending until actually recorded.
Shared vocabulary
Guide / Part
A Guide is a purpose/role route; a Part is a tool reference. They complement each other and are not two competing numbered workflows.
Contract / source Document
The published target Contract defines the supported target and revision. The source Document declares your source shapes. A source declaration does not authorize execution.
Complete request / source-only file
A complete SDK request includes request_id, correlation_id and draft with definition/source/mapping/fixture. The source-only status Document is one component, not that complete request.
Fixture / actual observation
A fixture supplies synthetic values for a declared local exercise. Its declared fields do not prove a real provider call, current connectivity or a customer result.
SDK candidate / Pack candidate
The SDK candidate has README.md, adapter.rs, libadapter.rlib and manifest.json. A Builder Pack candidate is a separate product-returned candidate with its own validation/approval path. Neither automatically becomes an approved Pack.
Worksheet / receipt / acceptance
A worksheet records a human note. A receipt is a product execution record. PASSED validation and automation completion can coexist with human acceptance pending; record each field at its actual scope.
Online / Offline
These are setup choices. Offline product development requires the exact declared dependency set and native tools; an offline manual ZIP only supports document reading.
Match each input to the right output

The status.read source-only example and the read_quality SDK exercise are different examples. Use a matching complete request; do not pass the status source file directly as the quality SDK request. Expected mapping values below are teaching expectations, not a newly captured run.

File / roleInputOutput / check
status-document.json

Source-only CUSTOM_API declaration for status.read. Use it inside the complete supplied preparation request.

service: stringDeclared service: string and healthy: boolean. This is a schema, not an observed service response.
read-only-custom-api.json / custom-api-01.json

The complete maintained SDK base request; the guide copy is byte-equivalent JSON.

fixture.response.component = "fixture-component"; score = "97" (string)STRING_TO_INTEGER maps score to expected integer quality_score 97. The documented SDK result is a local candidate.
custom-api-02.json

A complete second SDK request changing only the two fixture response values.

component = "my-test-component"; score = "88" (string)Expected mapped component is "my-test-component" and quality_score is integer 88. Inspect actual manifest/stages; identical mapping source is possible.
custom-api-score-number.json

Intentional negative input, not a successful base example.

fixture.response.score = 88 (JSON number) against a declared string schemaKeep the actual typed failure result. Do not convert the example into a claimed successful candidate.
Worksheet / SDK artifacts / Work reports

Three different artifact classes: human notes, local compiled candidate, actual Work/report/receipt records.

Use the matching tool and current target; never submit a worksheet or previous result as the next full request.Bind outputs to the actual input, version, candidate or Work identity. File presence and exit 0 alone are insufficient.

Current manuals and operating sequence

Use Parts 1–8 for current installation, tool exercises and troubleshooting. The retained examples and workbooks below keep their original release, purpose and observation limits.

  1. Part.1 · Install and prepare
  2. Part.2 · Observe structure with GAPE
  3. Part.3A · Plan with Integration Helper
  4. Part.4 · Write the source Document and bind the published target Contract
  5. Part.3B · Check the complete request and identify implementation needs
  6. Part.5 if needed · SDK candidate, implementation review and separate registration
  7. Part.6 if needed · Builder Pack candidate and its approval path
  8. Part.7 · Permitted GUI or headless operation
  9. Part.8 · Results, troubleshooting and human review

Skip SDK authoring only when an implemented, registered integration compatible with the installed release already meets the need. Skip Builder authoring only when an existing approved Pack meets the goal and installation scope. Keep declaration checks, integration validation and result review in either case.

Online and Offline are both supported setup choices

Online uses the network access approved for your installation. Offline is the closed on-premises option: prepare the exact OS/target toolchain and dependency set before transfer. The manual ZIP contains documents and synthetic inputs, not product binaries or Rust toolchains.

Connect the five task routes to the current manuals

Choose a task route below, then use its matching Part for the exact inputs and expected outputs. New declarations use Part.4, adapter implementation uses Part.5, Pack authoring uses Part.6, and existing Work/report inspection uses Parts 7–8. Helper A plans before the Document; Helper B checks the completed request before optional SDK or Builder work. Repeat the affected supported checks after changes.

For a Custom API exercise, copy the documented synthetic JSON into a fresh working folder, edit only the intended fields, use the installed SDK procedure, and inspect adapter.rs and manifest.json in the new output. Keep input and output digests with the SDK/compiler/target versions. A generated candidate still needs the documented integration and validation steps.

Example: changing score or component can change manifest metadata while adapter source remains identical. Compare each artifact separately. If a library digest differs, compare the exact input, toolchain, target and dependency set before drawing a reproducibility conclusion.

A DENIED, CONTRACT_INCOMPATIBLE, missing dependency or failed postcheck remains a failed or blocked product step even if the preparation worksheet is complete. Preserve the result, fix the documented prerequisite in a new candidate, and keep prior outputs.

“Custom” means a task for your supplied environment. It does not mean arbitrary code execution or a new product contract.

  • Use a documented interface only with its matching delivered version, established access and permitted task. Record any files or configuration outside the frozen image that it changes.
  • The connected Admin demonstration used an isolated repaired candidate. Its source repair is historical demonstration context, not an instruction to modify Golden r232.
  • Fresh r232 administrator-dependent use remains blocked at C7. Missing delivery or supported setup belongs in the owner handoff.
  • Helper preparation, GAPE projection reading and AI connection planning have distinct inputs and completion points. A successful preparation stage does not establish live connectivity.

The expected observations describe what to check. Enter only your own observations in the blank workbook.

Prepare an inputPrepare one integration source document
Current route
Available now for local document preparation and reading published results. A complete customer Helper request package is still a separate prerequisite.
Goal
Describe a status.read operation and identify what the supported target package must supply.
Changes to expect
Creates or edits caller-owned local documents only. No product registration, runtime configuration or provider request.
Evidence scope
JSON syntax and source-field review can be completed here. Published DISCOVER PASSED establishes local source discovery; NORMALIZE DENIED / CONTRACT_INCOMPATIBLE leaves target compatibility open.

Bring these inputs

  • A non-secret operation brief and an owner for the service description.
  • The public status-document.json source example and its field reference; keep the original and edit a copy.
  • Record the supplied tool/build and target references, or mark them unknown; the recorded macOS Helper build identity is unproven.

1. Describe the source

Use the brief to name the read operation, input service:string and output service:string plus healthy:boolean. Keep declared shapes separate from actual request values or a live reply.

Expected observation
One reviewable operation description with no claimed service call.
Keep
Operation brief, data owner and approved non-secret sample reference.
If it does not match
If the intended service or data use is unclear, return the description to its owner.
Detailed reference →

2. Edit and check a source copy

Follow the CUSTOM_API field table: retain protocol revision 1, primitive property types and consistent required lists. Use the published JSON syntax check if Python 3 is available. Keep notes in the brief, not unsupported JSON fields.

Expected observation
A readable JSON source document; syntax success is recorded separately from product validation.
Keep
Original/source-copy references, intended edits and any actual syntax result.
If it does not match
Fix only the identified format error in the copy. Do not add invented contract or credential fields.
Detailed reference →

3. Separate source from request envelope

List the supplier-owned contract/adapter IDs and revisions that are still needed. The source belongs in draft.source of a matching complete request; do not combine public fragments into a claimed valid request or pass the source directly to r2-discover.

Expected observation
A concrete missing-deliverable list for a complete versioned request, supported target and installation route.
Keep
Supplied target references or explicit unknowns; responsible supplier contact.
If it does not match
No complete matching package means stop before product preparation commands.
Detailed reference →

4. Read the retained outcomes and hand off

Read the published DISCOVER and NORMALIZE excerpts together. Record each operation, request_id, status, reason and lifecycle_stage. Both excerpts contain the same historical request ID; this is a record to inspect, not a key for reuse. R2 semantic denial can return process exit 0; read the JSON result.

Expected observation
Discovery success and normalization denial remain distinct; the next owner receives the missing target/package question.
Keep
Cited excerpts and a separate interpretation/next-action note.
If it does not match
Do not claim normalized, registered or connected execution from DISCOVER PASSED.
Detailed reference →

Finish this scope

A source copy, any actually performed syntax result, a correctly interpreted retained result and a named missing-deliverable handoff are recorded.

Close or hand off

Keep the original and edited copy under the data owner’s retention choice. No service needs stopping in this preparation route. Continue product preparation only after the supplier supplies the matching complete package and scope.

Read the reference now; run read-only queries only with the supplied client, intended local service and authorized query access.
Goal
Record service presence, readiness and reasons without submitting a Work or changing the service.
Changes to expect
Queries service state and writes local observation files. It does not start the service, configure a provider or submit Work.
Evidence scope
A successful query proves the returned observation for that target/time. It does not grant Work authority or establish every dependent readiness item.

Bring these inputs

  • Exact client/service release, supported platform and the operator account.
  • Supplied local socket and confirmation that the intended service is running; a desktop terminal is not automatically an appliance connection.
  • Permitted status/health access and a new private output directory.

1. Confirm the observation target

Compare client path, service release, socket and account with the operator handoff. Use the reference help check to confirm the supplied command.

Expected observation
The intended local query context is identified.
Keep
Target/release and non-secret handoff references.
If it does not match
Missing client or endpoint goes to delivery/operator before querying.
Detailed reference →

2. Capture status and health separately

Follow the supplied baseline block using the same client/socket/account. Record each exit immediately and preserve status.json and health.json privately.

Expected observation
Two query observations and their own exit codes, or the exact unperformed/failed stage.
Keep
Observation time, command reference, exits and sanitized source references.
If it does not match
Transport failure is not a reason to start or restart the service automatically.
Detailed reference →

3. Interpret component states

Copy literal liveness, readiness, authority/runtime states and relevant reasons. Keep UNKNOWN visible and ask the affected component owner whether it blocks the intended next task.

Expected observation
An observation summary that separates service presence from task-specific readiness.
Keep
Literal states/reasons and the next-owner question.
If it does not match
Do not apply the historical lab’s exception to this installation or infer permission from exit 0.
Detailed reference →

Finish this scope

The intended target and actual query results are recorded; unanswered readiness questions have an owner.

Close or hand off

Retain sanitized observations and leave the supplied service unchanged. Record that no Work was submitted. Any later service or Work action follows a separately supported authorized route.

Read and verifyVerify an existing Work report
Current route
Read the published example now. Actual file checks require authorized access to your own selected Work/revision and its report files.
Goal
Check that the delivered JSON and PDF belong to the same selected Work and match their reported file hashes.
Changes to expect
Reads selected records and files; may save local review notes. It creates no new Work or replacement report.
Evidence scope
Reading a historical comparison proves what the publication reported. A fresh match requires your own file observations; validation and human acceptance are separate.

Bring these inputs

  • An existing saved Work ID and selected report revision, supplied by the authorized operator or matching read query.
  • Actual returned JSON/PDF paths or approved copies with an attributable handoff.
  • An approved local viewer and file verifier for your platform; raw reports remain private.

1. Bind the selected record

Compare the saved Work ID with list/show/selected report references where available, preserving the same installation/account context. Record the chosen revision.

Expected observation
One attributable Work and report revision, or an explicit mismatch.
Keep
Work/report/revision references and same-identity observations.
If it does not match
A missing selected report or identity mismatch stops the file-completion claim.
Detailed reference →

2. Read outcome and closure

Copy execution_count, validation_results, final_result, receipt/closure and returned retry/replay fields. Keep human_acceptance null or pending exactly as returned.

Expected observation
Literal outcome and product acceptance are recorded separately from reviewer judgment.
Keep
Selected report fields and their source reference.
If it does not match
Do not fill unavailable values from the recorded example.
Detailed reference →

3. Verify physical files

Use the returned paths or approved copies. Compare JSON bytes with json_file_sha256 and PDF bytes with pdf_sha256; remove the sha256: prefix only for comparison. Open the PDF and compare its Work/result with JSON.

Expected observation
Readable same-revision files with observed hash comparisons, or an identified access/mismatch issue.
Keep
Expected/observed file hashes and readability/identity observations; keep private paths local.
If it does not match
report_sha256 is not a raw-file checksum. Missing files or mismatch go to the service operator; do not regenerate silently.
Detailed reference →

Finish this scope

The review states exactly which selected-file checks were performed and the product’s literal acceptance state. A reading-only exercise is labeled as such.

Close or hand off

Keep raw files under the data owner’s retention decision and share only approved references. Record missing delivery or verification with its owner; this task does not stop services or accept Work.

Use an eligible installationReview one approved logging change
Current route
Conditional on a provisioned, authorized Admin installation and a separately approved change. The recorded repaired local candidate does not supply fresh r232 bootstrap.
Goal
Apply only the approved log_level WARN change and distinguish its action receipt, stored value and effective behavior.
Changes to expect
May change the registered log_level setting after authorization. The visible {"log_level":"WARN"} fragment is not a complete request; no service restart is required by this configuration contract.
Evidence scope
An applied decision, mutation flag, revision and audit reference prove the recorded action within scope. The general projection withholds values; effective WARN needs the installation’s supported observation.

Bring these inputs

  • Exact organization/appliance/installation, current administrator/grant references and the supplied connection profile.
  • The change owner’s exact approval, current-state review and the supported configuration payload/procedure.
  • A retention/recovery disposition and a supported stored/effective-value observation if that proof is needed.

1. Connect and capture the baseline

Follow the supplied Admin connection checklist. Confirm returned target identity, then Refresh and record appliance state revision and configuration revision separately.

Expected observation
A current authorized target and a baseline attributable to that target.
Keep
Target, grant/reference, observation time and both revisions; retain private profile values locally.
If it does not match
Target mismatch or missing Admin provisioning stops the change path.
Detailed reference →

2. Review and submit once

Open Appliance → Update configuration. Compare Target and Expected revision with the current appliance state revision, then compare Requested change with the owner-approved log_level WARN change. Cancel a mismatch; submit once only within the supplied approval.

Expected observation
The actual decision/reason, mutation flag and audit reference, not a prefilled APPLIED result.
Keep
Approved intended change, expected revision and literal action response.
If it does not match
For stale revision refresh and re-review; for an uncertain timeout preserve and reconcile the existing request before another submission.
Detailed reference →

3. Verify receipt and effect separately

Refresh and inspect Audit for the matching action and revision. Record stored and effective values only through the supported observation supplied by the operator; otherwise leave them unobserved. A changed revision alone is not an effective-value test.

Expected observation
Action/revision evidence plus a separate observed or unresolved stored/effective-state record.
Keep
Audit reference, post-action revisions and the source of any stored/effective observation.
If it does not match
If effect is unproven, assign the observation to the operator; do not mask the gap with a restart.
Detailed reference →

4. Retain the result and disconnect

Record whether the authorized change remains applied or an explicit recovery decision is pending. Disconnect after review; saved profile fields are not a current snapshot. Use only a separately supplied and authorized recovery procedure if needed.

Expected observation
Final connection state, retained change disposition and next owner are explicit.
Keep
Minimal support record and retention/recovery procedure references.
If it does not match
Do not delete managed profiles/keys or invent an inverse change as routine cleanup.
Detailed reference →

Finish this scope

The one approved action and matching audit/revision are recorded; stored/effective evidence is either observed through its supported path or explicitly open.

Close or hand off

Retain the approved state or hand a recovery decision to the change owner. Disconnect and preserve required history. This case performs no automatic rollback, service restart or customer bootstrap.

Plan the handoffPrepare an AI setup handoff
Current route
Planning is available now. A controlled product/provider call remains dependent on the supported customer setup, exact runtime binding and explicit operation authority.
Goal
Make model, identity, data, budget and setup dependencies concrete enough for their owners to resolve.
Changes to expect
Creates a planning worksheet only. It does not enable APIs, alter IAM, configure a runtime or call Vertex AI.
Evidence scope
A completed plan identifies who must verify the actual identity, model/location, binding, cost and data conditions. It is not connected AI or customer E2E proof. GAPE observation and assistant document review are separate from Vertex execution.

Bring these inputs

  • Named PoC, cloud/AI and data owners; one permitted use-case question.
  • Non-secret project/location/model choices or explicit unknowns, and an identity-owner reference.
  • Exact delivery release and supplied setup/binding procedure reference, or a recorded missing-procedure request.

1. Fill non-secret choices

Use the published AI worksheet to record project, supported location, exact model, identity owner, approved data class and budget/retry limits. Leave missing values unknown.

Expected observation
A concrete plan without tokens, keys or invented model defaults.
Keep
Worksheet and owner-confirmation references.
If it does not match
Resolve unclear data use or cost ownership before any later setup.
Detailed reference →

2. Assign setup evidence

Ask the cloud owner to confirm API/billing, actual attached VM service identity, inference permissions/access scopes, model/location policy and network. Ask delivery for the exact supported binding/setup route. Record each as supplied, pending or unknown based on evidence.

Expected observation
Each prerequisite has a responsible owner and evidence to obtain.
Keep
Non-secret procedure, identity-owner and dependency references.
If it does not match
Fresh r232 administrator-dependent setup remains stopped at C7; do not substitute a test initializer or another platform’s authentication recipe.
Detailed reference →

3. Define a future check and hand off

Agree what a separately authorized small task would prove: actual selected model/location, whether a call was sent, returned result, product validation and measured cost. Keep expected text separate from a recorded reply.

Expected observation
A bounded future check, stop conditions and owner/resume handoff; no call has been made by this plan.
Keep
Expected result, budget/retention plan and missing-evidence list.
If it does not match
Do not infer a provider call from a selected runtime or silently change provider/model to fill a missing prerequisite.
Detailed reference →

Finish this scope

Owners can see the proposed task, required setup proof, cost/data limits and exact conditions for a later authorized evaluation.

Close or hand off

Retain the planning record; leave actual call/result/cost fields blank. Handoff the supported setup question to delivery/cloud owners. No cloud resource or credential cleanup is implied by this plan.

See a complete record, including a stopped stage

The worked reading example traces a service-status Document to the published discovery result and then its normalization denial. It shows a useful owner handoff while leaving the integration unresolved.
